There's no further need to further declare that "our lives are arabesque". The song played at a traditional musical get together in Birecik, Urfa or at Istanbul Moda Terrace by the DJ Mehmet Teoman is the same: Orhan Gencebay's Batsın Bu Dünya (Let This World Sink). Arabesk musician Ferdi Tayfur reproaches so-called intellectuals who still make judgements on Turkish arabesk music: "This is what they listen when they are high!"

Shot in Gaziantep, Urfa-Halfeti, Urfa-Birecik, Edirne and İstanbul, this musical documentary opens an unprejudiced window to a wide range of music genres from fantasy to tavern to arabesk-rap. The film also features interviews and performances by musicians such as Ferdi Tayfur, Hakkı Bulut, Ümit Besen, Kibariye, Emrah, Orhan Gencebay, Çamur, and Vokaliz.
